The overarching goal of the Fredericton Community Climate Hub is to accelerate the development and implementation of comprehensive climate adaptation and mitigation plans. These plans will be rooted in social equity, ensuring that the impact of climate initiatives positively touches every corner of the community. By fostering collaboration and raising awareness, our goal is to create a resilient, environmentally conscious, and socially equitable Fredericton that serves as a model for sustainable community development.

Climate Hubs unite community voices to advance a shared vision of a sustainable, low-carbon, and just future.
Climate Hubs are citizen-led initiatives with the shared goal of addressing climate change at the municipal level. Introduced by Climate Reality Project Canada, the program recognizes that effective climate action must reflect the unique characteristics, challenges, and opportunities of each region, including its geography and population.
The Fredericton Community Climate Hub grew out of public meetings convened in Fredericton in late 2023, and officially incorporated as a non-profit in March 2024.
A Network of Hubs
The Fredericton Community Climate Hub is part of a nationwide network. Each hub helps residents and local stakeholders take climate action. Hubs also support the development and adoption of municipal policies that advance climate goals.
Land Acknowledgement
The land on which we gather at the Conserver House is the traditional and unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Wəlastəkewiyik / Maliseet whose ancestors along with the Mi’Kmaq / Mi’kmaw and Passamaquoddy / Peskotomuhkati Tribes / Nations signed Peace and Friendship Treaties with the British Crown in the 1700s. The Fredericton Community Climate Hub recognizes that climate action is inseparable from Indigenous stewardship, colonization, and ongoing Indigenous presence. While recognition matters, it does not replace action, relationship-building, or accountability. Acknowledging the land is part of an ongoing practice. Our intention is to center Indigenous presence and responsibility in climate work, while recognizing that this commitment must be demonstrated over time, not declared once. We encourage you to seek out Indigenous-led resources and organizations to learn more about the land you are on.
